Designer's note

Core idea: the answers are blacked out and the blurbs are the clues. Every list in the cabinet teases you with one sentence ("Number one is ████"), and inside a file you count down from the bottom, reading the clue, guessing, then tapping the bar to burn the ink off. The whole site keeps score: the meter and the per-file gauges fill as you go, and in the real build that state would live in localStorage so a returning visitor's copy of the site is visibly less black than a stranger's. Short lists are a handful of big bars. The 100 books opens as a solid page of redaction, ninety small bars in running text you can pick at or clear ten at a time, then ten full entries for the headliners. Photos sit under a censor strip that lifts with number one, and outbound links are filed as numbered references. Hardest to build: making reveal feel good at both scales (one dramatic bar versus ninety tiny ones), and doing it accessibly, since "hidden until pressed" has to be honest for screen readers and keyboard users too.
